Barq Driver — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 17 August 2026
Barq Driver ("Barq", "the App") is operated by Dumyah ("we", "us"), the company behind the Batuttah logistics platform. Barq is a work app for delivery drivers who deliver shipments for companies that use the Batuttah platform. This policy explains what data the App handles, why, and your rights. It is separate from, and additional to, the privacy policy governing the dumyah.com website.
1. Who the App is for
Barq is not a consumer app. You can only use it if a company on the Batuttah platform (typically your employer or the company you contract with — "your Company") has registered you as a driver. Your Company decides that you use Barq for your work; we process most of your data on the basis of our contract with your Company and our legitimate interest in operating the delivery platform.
2. Data we process
Account and profile data — your name, phone number, Company, vehicle details, and delivery ratings. This is provided by your Company when it registers you, or generated as you work.
Location data — your precise GPS location, only while the App is open and in use during active delivery or pickup routes. We use it to track route progress, calculate customer ETAs, and attach coordinates to delivery events and incident reports. The App does not track your location in the background or off shift.
Photos — proof-of-delivery photos, signatures, and photos you attach to damage or loss reports. These are captured with your action, via the camera or your photo library.
Operational data — the shipments, routes, scans, cash-on-delivery amounts, closeouts, failed-delivery reasons and notes that you generate by doing your job in the App.
Device data and diagnostics — a push-notification token (so dispatch messages reach your device) and crash reports (device model, OS version, technical logs) that help us keep the App stable. Crash reports are not tied to your identity.
The App does not collect your contacts, calendar, or advertising identifiers; it shows no ads and does not sell your data.
3. Why we process it
- To dispatch, route, and track deliveries — the core service.
- To provide proof of delivery to merchants and recipients.
- To reconcile cash-on-delivery amounts you collect.
- To handle incidents (damaged, lost, or failed deliveries).
- To secure the platform and prevent fraud.
- To fix crashes and improve the App.
4. Who sees your data
- Your Company — your dispatchers and managers see your routes, deliveries, location during active routes, cash balances, and ratings, as part of managing their delivery operations.
- Merchants and recipients — see limited data needed for a delivery: your first name, and live progress/ETA of their shipment while you deliver it.
- Service providers — we use Google Firebase (push notifications, crash reporting) and Google Maps (map display). They process data on our behalf under their own safeguards.
- Legal — we disclose data where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with anyone for advertising.
5. Retention
We retain operational records (deliveries, proofs of delivery, cash reconciliation) for as long as your Company's account with us is active, and thereafter for as long as required by applicable law and by our contracts with your Company. Location data collected during routes is retained only for as long as it is needed for delivery operations, dispute resolution, and the legal periods above. Crash logs are retained according to Firebase Crashlytics defaults (90 days).
6. Your rights
Subject to Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law (No. 24 of 2023) and other applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Because your account is managed by your Company, the fastest route is your Company's administrator; you can also contact us directly at support@dumyah.com or +962 7 9889 7171. Deleting your account data may end your ability to use the App for work — coordinate with your Company. We answer requests within the timeframe required by law.
7. Security
Data moves over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Sign-in tokens are stored in your device's encrypted secure storage. Access to driver data inside the Batuttah platform is restricted by role.
8. Minors
The App is intended for working adults (18+). We do not knowingly process data of minors.
9. Changes
We will update this policy as the App evolves and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be announced in the App.
